Kırşehir Sugar Factory with Modern Production Infrastructure
Kırşehir Sugar Factory
Construction of Kırşehir Sugar Factory, initiated by Turkish Sugar Factories Inc. (Türkşeker) in 1990, was completed in 2001, and the facility officially commenced operations the same year. As the newest sugar factory established by Türkşeker, Kırşehir Sugar Factory operated as a state-owned enterprise until 2018.
As part of the privatization process completed in 2018, the factory was acquired by TUTGU Gıda Inc., the highest bidder, and has since continued its operations under the name TUTGU Gıda Kırşehir Sugar Factory.
Following privatization, comprehensive investment and modernization projects were carried out to strengthen the factory's sustainable production capacity, enhance its technological infrastructure, and create greater added value for regional agricultural production.
Through these modernization and improvement initiatives, production efficiency was significantly increased, and the facility was upgraded to meet modern manufacturing standards. Following the completion of these investments, Kırşehir Sugar Factory resumed full-scale production in 2021. The 2021 production campaign began on September 27, 2021, and was successfully completed on December 31, 2021.
Today, Kırşehir Sugar Factory stands as one of Türkiye's leading sugar production facilities, supported by its modern production infrastructure, experienced workforce, and extensive network of contracted farmers.
Our factory operates on a total site area of 1,216,000 m², including approximately 25,000 m² of enclosed production facilities.
The majority of the factory's sugar beet cultivation area is located within the Kızılırmak Basin, working in cooperation with producers across the provinces of Kırşehir, Ankara, Nevşehir, Aksaray, and Kırıkkale.
Through production carried out with approximately 2,200 contracted farmers, the factory has:
- An annual sugar beet processing capacity of approximately 500,000 tons
- An average annual production of 70,000 tons of crystal sugar
- An annual production of approximately 20,000 tons of molasses
