A 47-kilometer tunnel network in Kahramanmaraş: Kahramanmaraş-Göksun Tunnels in 2019.
Construction of the Göksun Tunnel Project in Kahramanmaraş, one of the region's most significant transportation investments, has entered its final phase. While construction continues on five tunnels, six tunnels have already been completed and opened to traffic.
Work is progressing rapidly on the tunnel located closest to Kahramanmaraş city center. Beginning in Bulutoğlu Neighborhood of the Onikişubat district and extending to Suçatı Neighborhood, this tunnel will be the longest in the project, with a total length of 3,700 meters. Together with the remaining structures, the project will comprise an integrated tunnel network totaling approximately 47 kilometers.
The tunnels that have already been completed and opened to traffic include: Çağlayan Tunnel (2,492 m), Döngel Tunnel (236 m), Tekir Tunnel (1,154 m), Ahmet Eskalen Tunnel (2,847 m), T1 Tunnel (1,095 m), and T0 Tunnel (470 m).
Construction is ongoing on the remaining tunnels, where excavation works have been completed. These include T1 Tunnel (1,390 m), T2 Tunnel (1,400 m), T3 Tunnel (3,678 m), T4 Tunnel (400 m), and T5 Tunnel (610 m).
In addition, two further tunnels, measuring 800 meters and 770 meters, are planned to be constructed under future tender packages, completing the overall highway tunnel network.
